Find an exercise you love. Whether its walking, swimming, dancing, it’s so much easier to stick at something if you love doing it. Check out your local leisure centre for classes – there is such a range nowadays there truly is something for every person and ability.

No pressure. Start steady, don’t place unrealistic goals or expectations on yourself – the most important thing is to try – whether its 5 or 50 minutes a week – every little bit counts and you can build from here.

Strength in numbers. Find a friend or relative or local group for encouragement and support – you may find they need you just as much!

Add it to the diary. Sign up to that water aerobics class and add it to the calendar – make time for it and you will reap the rewards.
